There are always rules. It’s the way we learn and grow. It’s the structure that allowed a city to be built, a company to grow, an organization to be founded.
Perhaps Rule #1 should be, “Rules are made to be broken.”
It’s time to take a look at our long-standing rules and assumptions. Are they still valid? Do they serve our organization? Are they tuned into our vision, our strategies, or have they become outdated roadblocks to new ideas and energy? Who set the rules, and who is enforcing them? And what “rules” assumptions are our members carrying, and are they valid?
Transparency and enthusiasm go a long way to fostering new ideas and energy. Don’t let the rules stop you from moving forward!
